This Privacy Policy explains how Balancer (“we”, “us”, or “the app”) handles information when you use the Balancer Android application and the website at balancerlife.app.
Balancer is designed to be private and offline-first. In short: your activity data stays on your device, and the app does not require an account.
1. Who we are
Balancer is a personal life-balance tracker for Android. Contact: [email protected].
2. Information the app stores on your device
Depending on how you use Balancer, the app may store locally:
- Life areas, goals, and preferences you configure
- Activities and durations you log
- Daily notes, moods, or reflections you choose to save
- Calculated daily scores and related insights derived from your logs
- Reminder preferences and local schedule settings
- App lock preference (enabled/disabled) — not your biometric secret
- Optional backups you create and save yourself
This information is stored in the app’s private storage on your device (for example using Android Room / DataStore). Balancer does not upload it to our servers.
3. Information we do not collect
Balancer does not:
- Create user accounts or require sign-in
- Sync your activity history to a Balancer cloud service
- Include advertising networks
- Include analytics or crash-reporting SDKs that phone home by default
- Sell personal data
4. Permissions
Balancer may request:
- Notifications — only if you enable optional reminders
- Biometric / device credential — only if you enable app lock; authentication is handled by Android and Balancer does not receive your fingerprint, face template, or PIN
Balancer does not need contacts, location, microphone, camera, or continuous body-sensor access.
5. Exports and imports
If you export a backup or CSV, the file is written only to the location you choose (for example via Android’s document picker). If you import a backup, it replaces data on that device. You are responsible for how you store or share exported files.
6. Website
The marketing website at balancerlife.app is static informational content. It does not provide an account system. Server logs operated by your hosting provider may automatically include standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and requested pages. We do not use the website to collect activity logs from the app.
If you email us, we will receive the content of your message and your email address so we can respond.
7. Google Play and third parties
Distribution through Google Play is subject to Google’s terms and privacy practices. Device manufacturers and operating-system services may process information outside Balancer’s control (for example Play Protect, system backups if you enable them, or OEM cloud services). Review those providers’ policies for details.
8. Data retention and deletion
On-device data remains until you delete it in the app, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall Balancer. Uninstalling removes the app’s local database from that device unless a separate backup you created still exists elsewhere.
9. Children’s privacy
Balancer is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
10. International users
Because primary app data stays on your device, processing generally occurs where the device is located. If you contact us by email, your message may be processed where our mail provider operates.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product or legal changes. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app or site after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
